Jolie's Casting Spell: Role of Maleficent in Burton Remake of 'Sleeping Beauty'?

It appears Tim Burton may be taking up his magic wand once more to direct a remake of another children’s classic – Sleeping Beauty. Entitled Maleficent, the remake will purportedly focus on the evil fairy’s turbulent past, which led her to curse a certain princess to a century of snoozing.

Delightful as Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are, the world could no doubt handle a Burton film without their presence, so rumours that Angelina Jolie will take up the role of Maleficent are pleasing. With her dark, edgy beauty and capacity for wildness, she would surely do well as the captivatingly wicked fairy – though I can’t see Jolie transforming into a dragon any time soon.

'Sex and the City 3' - Upcoming Horror Flick?

Kim Cattrall has been hinting about a third film in the Sex and the City franchise, and Lord, but it’s a scary thought. “We’ll call time when there are no stories left to tell and that’s really the writer Michael Patrick King’s call,” said Cattrall, prompting fears that, if left to MPK, the saga will go on forever.

But for all her requisite gushing about the films, Cattrall at least gave some sign that she knows it’s not a good thing for the series is stripped of its soul, recycled, repackaged and pimped until the end of time: “The great thing about the Sex and the City series was that we didn’t stay too long. The fact that we’ve had this second life is amazing. But I’d hate for people to think, ‘Oh my God, there’s another one out there’”.

Too late, Kim - let’s just hope it doesn’t get any worse.

'Sex and the City 2' Trailer: Aidan Returns - Again

Having now watched the second Sex and the City 2 trailer several times, I found (after I finished sobbing in despair and gagging over the dialogue) that I am still unable to reconcile myself to the return of Aidan Shaw. Now, don’t get me wrong, Aidan was one of my beloveds, but do I (or does Carrie, I suppose) really need to go through all that – again?

Carrie was with Big, then they split, then they got back together, then they split again, then she was with Aidan, then Carrie cheated on Aidan with Big, then she and Aidan got back together, then they split again, then she got together with Big again, then they split again, then they got married – now she’s meeting Aidan again?

Carrie says in the trailer that she and Aidan meeting on the other side of the world must mean something – especially since her marriage with Big has lost its ‘sparkle’.

I think we all know what has really lost its sparkle, and it’s not the raunchy evening gowns that are apparently the norm in the desert.
