‘A Dangerous Method’ Seems a Safe Bet

October 24th 2010 12:16
Interest is a-stirring for A Dangerous Method, the story of Jung and Freud and the woman who drove these sires of psychoanalysis crazy. Now, we all know Keira Knightley, who plays said woman, is prone to dividing her audience (for the record, I like her, though would have liked to drown her in Pemberley’s lake when she tried on Elizabeth Bennet) but when matched with the likes of Viggo Mortensen (stepping into the psyche of Sigmund Freud) and Michael Fassbender (exploring the consciousness of Carl Jung), with Vincent Cassel thrown in for good measure, you’d want your head read if you didn’t think it worth a trip to the cinema – or at least a session on the couch.

Directed by David Cronenberg and based on Christopher Hampton’s stage play, The Talking Cure, the film is tipped for release early 2011.

Ooh, Fassbender? Well, you know what I think of him... I'll be there.

For me,the drawback is Keira, she drives me mad. But still, I'll be looking at this one.

Hope you're well, Mich.

Really looking forward to this Michaelia! Love Cronenberg, love Fassbinder and definitely love Mortensen - as for Kiera Nightly......meh.....I tire of her typecast aristocratic tea sipping lady of pronunciation and ettiquette.

didn't actually know Cassel was in this also, even better

Hey Trace - thought you'd like this one! I'm very well indeed, hope you are as well!

Shaun - two out of three ain't bad, hey? Or four if you count Cassel! I think it will be well worth seeing. I studied Jung and Freud at university so would also be interesting seeing the personal side of how it all came about.

Chris - you know me, I'm tragic, can't resist a pun or four!

Thanks for the comments y'all!
