SATC: Dreamgirl and Californicator Sign On
September 17th 2007 21:42
And that’s not all. The release date for the movie has been tentatively announced, and with shooting to begin tomorrow, details are starting to emerge about Sex and the City filming locations, renowned for reflecting – and creating – the popularity of many actual Manhattan restaurants, clubs and bars – which is bound to give storyline clues to attending paparazzi.
Jennifer Hudson, former American Idol contestant and Dreamgirls Oscar winner has signed on as the first cast member to be taking up a newly created role. She will play Louise, personal assistant to Carrie Bradshaw, whose career has escalated so much in the last four years – that’s right, the film is to be set in the present day – that she has had to hire a helper. So does this mean Carrie is no longer writing her column? Has she written more books? Heaven above, has she become utterly affected? Evan Handler, newly of Californication fame with one-time SATC guest star David Duchovny, has also been signed to reprise his role of Harry Goldenblatt, but laments that he will not feature prominently.
Sex and the City: The Movie is scheduled to begin filming tomorrow, and to be released on May 30th next year. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey’s namesake restaurant in London NYC Hotel is rumoured to be a spotlight location.

It's being released May 30th next year (the eve of my birthday - happy birthday to me!).
I really, really wanted them to take it from where they left off. With everything that happened in the six years of the series, lord knows whats happened in the four years since it ended!
Carrie will be 42, Samantha almost 50, Brady will be in school, and so will Charlotte's daughter I suppose... It will be strange indeed!
