Tell-All Book Of 'Sex'
January 9th 2008 10:12
According to this article on Daily News, the upcoming Sex and the City movie isn’t the only thing that is being developed from the series. All the Sex secrets are to be spilled – the feuds, the lovers, the scandals and set-backs – in the form of a new book by insider Clifford Streit.
I think this will be very interesting...

'Sex and the City' tell-all in the works
Tuesday, January 8th 2008, 4:00 AM
The next shocking "Sex and the City" installment could be a book, not a movie.
Clifford Streit, the former manager of author Candace Bushnell, is shopping a behind-the-scenes memoir of the series' early days tentatively titled "Unbecoming Stanford." (Stanford Blatch, Carrie Bradshaw's flamboyant gay best friend played by Willie Garson, was intended as a caricature of Streit.)
Recently, Bushnell and Streit amicably settled a financial dispute over payment from the show.
Included in a proposal being circulated by Artists and Artisans agent Adam Chromy are details of a real-life affair that allegedly took place between two of "SATC's" on-screen lovers. It is a story that will cause plenty of headaches if it makes it into print.
The book suggests tensions on set began because Kim Cattrall was "a natural comedienne, and a scene-stealer in the best possible sense - the camera went right to her." And executive producer Darren Star passed on Ashton Kutcher for the show because, he privately confided after a dinner meeting, "I don't see this kid going anywhere."
Then there was a night out at Moomba, when the show was enjoying its first flush of success. Streit recalls getting so drunk on Cosmopolitans with cast members that he actually threw up on Chris Noth's shoes.
"I see my wit has failed me again," he quipped.

Pick up The Joy of Sex, the title sounds promising, and I'll buy this for the gossip.
Thanks!

I don't think my SATC loyalty will stretch to a book about the actors...what about you?

Haha I won't be able to help myself! I need to know who "the real-life affair that allegedly took place between two of "SATC's" on-screen lovers" is about!
The stuff that happened behind the scenes on the series never really came out much at the time, except about Kim Cattrall, and the stuff they wanted us to know. But I'm sure everyone will find out the main points without having to actually buy the book!
I do have an interest in Candace Bushnell herself though, and have read quite a bit of her other work, and about her life.
Thanks Tracy!

I posted a reply last night and then it disappeared, strange things are happening here...
I’m going to sound jaded, but I’m sure the media will fill in any of the SATC gaps that I might have. Plus, I’ll be busy reading Marian Keyes new book after seeing the film...what a great month

So will I - I can't wait!
Yeah, I suppose anything interesting will come out. Also want to know what Ashton Kucher thought he was doing! Lol.

I think some of the basic ideas are very relevant - but then they exaggerate and glamourise the hell out of them to make them entertaining!
But the book will mostly be about what went on behind the scenes, Streit's lawsuit against Candace Bushnell, who was fighting, who was shagging, how it was all developed...

She defintely is a fine looking fifty-two year old! Was interested to read how Streit says her feud with SJP started because Cattrall had such natural comic talent! Another plus for her eh? Or maybe that's not so important...
Thanks!

I think they were all really funny, but Kim didn't quite pull off the serious stuff as well as the others. I still like her though, and I think she's had a bit of a rough go.
I really want to know all the gossip that went on. I keep trying to guess who the lovers were!
