Did you get it right away? I didn’t. I was rather slow off the mark, in fact – but I believe I’ve made up for it. Of course, I’m talking about Sex, baby. Aha!! I've just worked out how come I missed watching SATC when it started... I was trotting around the world!
I think I'm making up for that lost time now though
I'm not sure I can pick a favourite episode. I definitely think it got better as it went along.
I am so glad they stopped Carrie from doing that talking to the camera business. That made me cringe, but I think I've moaned about that before. Ah well..

I wish that was why I missed it in the beginning!
It's really hard to choose a favourite, but I think The Drought would be up there for season one. Also, Bay of Married Pigs, The Power of Female Sex, and of course - the pilot ep.
Thanks!

OH GOD! I scanned through your comment before reading it properly and for a moment all I saw was "a big fan of sex... with my cousin" (!!!)
Phew. Glad that isn't the case.
The first couple of times I watched Sex, I was on the verge of hating it. I had this preconceived disdain for it. Then a friend made me watch it again a while later, and suddenly - BANG! I got it. It just hit me and I realised it was FABULOUS!
But to each their own.
Thanks Amy!

I remember really enjoying the first show - especially the abso-f**king-lutely line from Big. And I did love the 20-something guys episode. That was funny

I reckon Season Four was the best of all!
The pilot episode was done really well. That final scene with Carrie and Big defined them so well in such a simple but powerful way. Apparently, that line - absof***inglutely - was what convinced Chris Noth to do the show.
Timothy Olyphant did weird well in the Twenty Something ep.
Thanks for visiting!

Like Tracy, I'm glad they stopped the talking-to-camera idea!

Yeah - but it's so hilarious when it happens to someone else. Have seen that episode eleventy billion times and still laugh! Especially when she walks into the door with the sheet over her head and Big teasing her!
Me too (fourth wall) - but it wouldn't have worked much longer anyway, when Carrie had the affair, etc, she couldn't just narrate through her column to the camera because the story had become less confined to the original Candice Bushnell stuff and so was broader than just what she would put in the column.
This is probably the opposite reaction to what is intended, but I feel less involved in a story when the actors talk directly to the camera - it makes me suddenly aware that it's not real. And since I love living in SATC fantasy land, I'm glad they stopped it on the show as well!
Thanks Lara!
