Six: Orgasmic and Fabulous

A very mixed bag is Season Six of Sex and the City, with arguably some of the best and worst episodes. The finale caused much speculation everywhere as the issue of how it was all going to turn out was hotly debated. In the end, I suppose they couldn’t please everyone, and while the majority may have wanted Carrie and Big together, the execution of the episode left a lot to be desired.
Episode Seventy-Five: ‘To Market, To Market’

What/Who Went Down: Carrie has her much anticipated first-date with Berger, Charlotte does her best to make Harry marry her, Miranda finds she still has feelings for Steve, and Samantha fears she is going through menopause.

When she meets Harry by chance, she tells him she doesn’t mind if they don’t get married, and she would be lucky to have him, and he finally proposes. Miranda must make a decision between excessive work hours and spending time with her son. Samantha makes Smith a star despite his doubts.

When the girls go out to Bed, to commiserate with Carrie, Sam and Carrie end up getting high, Carrie gets apprehended by the police, Charlotte realises that it doesn’t matter that she has been married before, and Miranda gets her confidence back after fitting into her skinny jeans.

When attempting to order another room at reception, Big, who has been searching Paris for her, finds her, and takes her back home. The show ends with Miranda enjoying life with her family, Samantha rediscovering herself with Smith, Charlotte and Harry preparing for their Chinese baby, and Big moving back to Manhattan to be with Carrie.

This was a huge season, so much happened to the quartet. I can't pinpoint which ones I like the best, but I cried a lot in the last few episodes.
I used to really hate Big but after watching the last episodes a million times, I realised I like him more than I thought. He still pissed Carrie around though...

Big, was a prick, no two ways about it, but I think I always loved him in spite of it. It was obvious he was more than just another transient male in the show - and now 'Big' is an icon.
Not keen on Chris Noth for any other reason though, as with SJP. I don't like them beyond SATC, but they are perfection as those characters.
I actually wrote this ages ago and half forgot I hadn't finished my little 'series'!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried a lot i.e. each time I watched certain episodes from this season
I had a lot of mixed feelings -- annoyed when she was w/ Berger...unsure when she was with 'the Russian'...excited when Big was outside her apt... Oh well...

No, you're not the only one, that's for sure! Mixed feelings seemed to be the 'trend' for the season - it honestly encompasses my most favourite and least favourite episodes. And the ending... I got what I wanted but not quite the way I wanted it.
