Charlotte's Waters Break... And The SATC Rumours Flood In
September 21st 2007 17:33
I am going mad. My Sex obsession has become mania. I am officially an SATC nympho. Here’s what my fixation has garnered over the last few days:
Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Chris Noth (Big) have just shot a scene at Lumi restaurant. According to Daily News, Charlotte storms from the restaurant, preceded by her very large baby-bump. Big chases after her, prompting Charlotte to yell “I don’t want to see you!” An argument ensues. “I curse the day that you were born”, Charlotte tells Big, moments before her breaking waters bring a halt to the quarrel. Big ushers her into his limousine and takes her to the hospital.
The staff at Lumi have reportedly signed an agreement that they will not reveal anything about the scene, but speculation is rife that the clash was sparked by Charlotte’s discovery that Big was dining with another woman.
This comes just days after the official photos were released of the first scene filmed, where Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Big are shown kissing in the street. (Check out Carrie’s lust-worthy shoes.) There is no word on the sequence of these scenes, however, so the apparent contradiction could mean nothing.
Other rumours gaining ground are that Carrie and Big move in together, and in their house-hunting scene, they use the penthouse of the Four Seasons; that Candice Bergen will be back as Carrie’s Vogue mentor; Carrie will still be writing for The New York Post, and one of her colleagues will feature as a new non-regular; and her assistant Louise’s (Jennifer Hudson) boyfriend will be in the mix.
Also, after casting calls went out seeking someone to play a marriage counsellor, whispers from the Daily Post of problems between Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg) have returned to the fore.
Everything seems to be going ahead alright this time (fingers crossed), despite new flare-ups in the long-standing feud between Parker and Kim Cattrall. Sex and the City: The Movie had a false start after the season finale in 2004, when Cattrall refused to sign on without a deal closer to Parker’s, but it was all systems go a couple of years later, when they each purportedly negotiated over six million dollars. However, Cattrall stalked out of the party at Butter earlier in the week, which was celebrating the commencement of filming. She left directly after the arrival of SJP, looking furious, which would indicate that all is still not fine and dandy.

Since when don't SJP and Cattral get on? And why? I really should get out more.

You're right and it's quite confronting when you think about it too much!
SJP and Kim Cattrall haven't been friendly in a long time. They apparently hated each other by the end of the television series. Cattrall hated that SJP earned more and had more creative input as an executive producer. Their feud is what stopped production of the film in 2004. Cattrall refused to work with SJP again unless she got a better deal.
So far on the set of the movie, tensions have apparently been high. It was reported last week that Kristen Davis had to break up an argument between them after SJP took the shoes Cattrall wanted to wear.
It seems like fairly petty stuff to me. I don't particularly like either of them outside the show, so as long as this squabbling doesn't affect the movie, I'm happy.
Are you much of a Sex and the City fan, Mrs M?

I hope the movie doesn't kill the "something" that the show had.

I hope it doesn't either. With Michael Patrick King having written the script it should be good but you can never tell with these things. I'm preparing myself for disappointment while hoping to be blown away by it.
